Vertical City
The functions of living, working and recreation in blocks that are stacked together in the vertical city. They support each other and influence each other. This creates the vertical city. The emphasis is on transparency in Rotterdam: no close walls and an obvious balance between the functions. It is important that the building lives twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Certainly on the ground floor, where everyone meets. The vibrancy there must determine the success of the building.
